It was around 28 degrees, I was all alone, I hoped onto the Sydenham train at North Melbourne station to find that it was so crowded. [crowed as in, you could feel people breathing and tummies move, in your 'personal space'].
On the train I'm standing right in between a few groups of international Indians at the entrance [gees I wish I caught the next train], they were all busy having different conversations, whilst I was struggling to balance because there was no hand rail to in reach and around this time of the train ride it gets bumpy. I was constantly leaning on people and getting stepped on, I apologies by saying 'sorry' and 'excuse me' to so many international Ind. People who for some reason just seem to know every other person on the trian.
The train stopped at Footscray st. where noone on my carridge hopped off and only more people tried to get in. This corcasian looking guy is about to hop onto the train, standing at the entrance/exits he says 'excuse me' everyone squishes in more. Struggling to keep hold to my school bag I start to get annoyed.
It suddenly becomes dead silent and one of the internationals cracks a joke, he said; 'Instead of people saying "excuse me" it should be "squeeze me".
I felt so disturbed. Once I hopped off I ran to my bus stop.
p.s: I'm sorry to be pointing out the internationals. It's just that I pretty sure i didn't see any other nationalities around me.
